About Kyodai Karate Do
Kyodai Karate Do is a karate school that has been a part of many people's lives for several years. The instructors, including George Ashkar, are described as caring, professional, and mentors who teach traditional and practical Shotokan Karate, as well as Judo and Kung Fu. The school is held in high regard, with many considering it a second home and the people there as a second family. The school's values and teachings have a lasting impact on students, as many hold them decades later. The school is also known for being a place where students can forge lasting friendships and learn important life skills such as discipline and respect. Kyodai Karate Do is described as a traditional martial arts school, and may not be the best fit for those looking for grappling and hardcore fighting. Instead, it offers a foundation in traditional martial arts, fitness, and an opportunity to make lasting connections. Whether you are a child or an adult, Kyodai Karate Do is an ideal place for those seeking to learn martial arts and valuable life skills.
My family began practicing at this dojo during the late 80s. I began when i was 5 years old and practice up until i was 15. This dojo not only teaches you karate, it also teaches you to be the best you. I am now 41 years old and to this day i continue to practice the guiding principles of what this dojo represents. The lessons and principles from this dojo showed me, a near high school drop out, to never under estimate my abilities to achieve greatness.
To seek perfection of character, I proudly served the U.S. Navy for 8 years and went on to graduate from Law School. It all started at Kyodai.
My son was unable to focus and could not control his anger, which cause fight at school all the time. Since he started to join the karate group in Kyodai,he is able to control his anger better, and he focuses on what he is doing. The last school year he had awarded in many areas. The dojo teaches the kids perseverance and determination.

I've grown up here. I started when I was 7. The people there became my second family. George Ashkar is like a second father. I've traveled the country competing nationally with them. I am honored to have my name put up on the dojo wall with all the others who have achieved their Black Belt. 31 years later, I still hold the values taught to me. They teach l traditional and practical Shotokan Karate. They also have Judo and Kung Fu classes. You enter that dojo, you will leave with a lifetime of valuable lessons and memories, and you will always return.
