Helmer construction does excellent work. They put in long HOT hours. Cleaned up afterwards. Finished the job to our expectations. We would recommend them to anyone who needs a roof done.
I had helmers construction install a roof on my home as roofers go they are a roofing company. The price was reasonable. With that said I had to point out they needed a second layer of ice and water to meet code specs. I felt like it shouldn't have been my job to tell them what code is but unfortunately I had to. I am just speculating with this thought but they under cut most prices and in order to keep profits up they cut in the materials that you can't see as far as the ice and water. Once I mentioned the code and it needed a second row he started to get defensive but then quickly changed and said no problem and added the second row of ice and water. With that said don helmer was very polite and respectful through the entire project. I had an issue with one of the corners of the garage and they repaired the corner using lumber I had on the property and did a quick job of it but when they reinstalled the faca wrap and vented soffit it was very sloppy and not what a carpenter would leave there work. When the project was complete they charged me an additional 180.00 for an hr of labor and sloppy finish I asked them to fix the faca and soffit to look like a professional did the work and he said I was getting a deal at that price. I responded with the finish looks bad and I will have to fix it so he dropped the additional money. As far as keeping the job site clean there was no issue there they did a nice job for the most part, I ran my lawn magnet over the driveway and lawn and pick up an additional 20+ nails from my yard and driveway. Overall very pleasant to deal with but you should have an idea on how roofs should be installed professionally and keep an eye on the work their performing. And yes I would use them again for a roof the roof looks good.
Helmer Roofing just completed our roof replacement. The entire crew was very professional & highly efficient. They were extremely respectful of us & our property. Our roof looks great! I would highly recommend Helmer Roofing
