Paolo makes me look forward to working out and I leave feeling relaxed and knowing I will wake up sore. He helps build up my strength, as well as my confidence that getting my body to a healthier place is simple.
I began working with Stephanie when I was six weeks postpartum with a body rocked by pregnancy and painful diastasis recti. With each session, I felt stronger and within a couple months of working together 2x a week, my diastasis recti was 100% healed. I credit Stephanie with "pulling me back together" after my pregnancy. Her incredible attention to detail and understanding of the body, and the specifics of my body, far surpassed anything I could have expected. Each session was completely tailored to me and my needs with compassion, care, an amazing sense of humor, and great results.
I have seen Stephanie Bishop at Well-Balanced Pilates twice a week for 6 years. I had a laminectomy and spinal fusion many years ago so core strengthening and pain management were my goals. I had tried many different modalities when I chanced on Stephanie's studio....gym memberships, yoga, Gyrotonics, PT, accupuncture and osteopathy. I had gotten hurt in almost all of them. Stephanie is amazing. She listens to my body and adapts each session to my needs. Whenever I come in with with a pain she respects it and devises exercises to alleviate it. She is constantly going to advanced professional classes to learn about the relationship between body and movement. She makes exercising fun and I always feel better when I leave. Young and old, agile and stiff, suffering from chronic pain or injuries, no matter, you are in the best of hands. I am now strong enough to carry my 1 year old granddaughter up and down stairs and push a stroller up the hills of Hudson Heights. I credit Stephanie with keeping me fit!
