As a Fairfax County resident affected by the proposed school rezoning, I am very concerned about how this process is being carried out. Although the firm emphasizes a “data-driven” approach, the outcome suggests that the data is being used to support predetermined conclusions rather than guide thoughtful decisions.
The current proposal relies heavily on generalized averages that do not reflect the day-to-day realities families face. Important factors such as traffic flow, safety, and realistic commute times do not appear to have been meaningfully considered.

As a resident of Fairfax County I question the firms methods. Instead of keeping my children within a walkable/bikable distant from school they have my children going to a school over 6 miles from my house. Knowing nothing about the area they did not take traffic patterns or safety into account. At the times the children would be traveling this could take upwards of an hour. Some days it takes 3 traffic lights just to get out of my subdivision.
As a resident affected by the current Fairfax County school rezoning, I am deeply concerned by the firm’s methodology. While they market 'data-driven solutions,' the process has been handled backwards, relying on condensed timelines and questionable metrics to justify unrealistic boundary maps. Specifically, the use of broad averages is masking significant real-world implications for families. Fairfax County demands a higher level of rigor; I expect to see a pivot toward genuine transparency and granular data analysis as this moves forward.
