About Okuyama Bodywork
Okuyama Bodywork is a holistic wellness center that offers massages and acupuncture to reduce stress and alleviate various physical and emotional issues. With certified estheticians and a natural approach, they provide reliable and affordable services to improve overall well-being. Their experienced therapists, including Sunny and David, are knowledgeable and skilled in their craft. While the facility may not be luxurious, clients appreciate the value and effectiveness of the treatments, making it a hidden gem in the West Village and Chelsea areas. Many visitors consider Okuyama their favorite self-care spot in the city, often requesting specific therapists like Sunny who are highly praised for their skill. The massages are intense and highly effective, often using acupressure and checking in with clients to ensure comfort. The experience is more about bodywork than relaxation, with some clients describing it as going to get worked in the best way. The basement setting is simple, with curtain closures instead of private rooms, and therapists may answer phones or converse with staff during sessions, but this does not detract from the quality of the treatment. Prices are very affordable, especially for longer sessions, with some clients saying they would return regularly and are excited to try other services offered. Overall, Okuyama Bodywork is valued for its attentive therapists, quality treatments, and great value, making it a standout choice for those seeking effective bodywork in the area.

She used a lot of acupressure, and checked in often to make sure it wasn't too much, so you can absolutely go lighter but it was great to take it to the brink of painful since it was doing so much good. I did 90 minutes...read full review
