About Michelle Nail Spa
Michelle Nail Spa is a nail salon located in the Upper West Side of Manhattan that offers a range of services, including manicures and pedicures. Based on the reviews, the salon generally provides good customer service, with employees often going the extra mile to accommodate customers and ensure their satisfaction. However, the quality of the services can be inconsistent. While some customers have had positive experiences, such as a well-done gel manicure, others have reported issues with the longevity of their manicures, with the polish chipping within a week even after a touch-up. Despite these mixed reviews, the salon seems to have loyal customers who appreciate the efforts of specific employees, such as Marina, JoAnn, and Mason, who are praised for their attention to detail and patience. Overall, Michelle Nail Spa appears to be a decent option for nail services in the area, though customers may want to consider the potential quality issues when booking their appointments.
Very upset that they cut me with the drill. This was my first time going here. I had regrettably foregone my usual nail salon to accompany a friend and tried this place out. I rarely, if ever, get cut and when it happens it is so upsetting because your finger hurts for a week and you risk infection! She wasn't even going to put alcohol on the bleeding finger until I asked her to. Gel manicure turned out fine and even though I think the name is great (I might be biased), I probably won't be back.
Great customer service, but poor quality. Tried for the first time got a mani & pedi gel. Mani chipped in 4 days had to go back to touch it up and still chipped lol. Didn’t last more then a week with the touch up. Would go back for pedicure but that’s about it ??♀️
When I see negative reviews I know that at times, anyone working in an establishment can have a bad day. That being said, if you are employed in the service industry, good customer service comes first. This is the Upper West Side of Manhattan. You are going to have to deal with dozens of different people with different personalities day after day. With the exception of dealing with patrons who are downright disrespectful, you should smile and do your job. Allowing a prior bad experience with a customer to negatively dictate the rest of your interactions with people, is bad for business. You are not going to be able to please everyone. And to the employe who has that "Why are you bothering me?" look on his/her face, the customer isn't making you work there. If you don't like your job, it's not the customer's fault. On the flip side of the coin is the customer that makes the service employee's job harder. The one who is rude, condescending, fails to leave a tip or undertips. (I can't remember if that's a word)You should treat service workers the same way you would expect someone to treat your parents, children or siblings. If you are having a bad day, it's not the employee's fault. A simple smile and a "hi," goes a long way. My wife has been going to Michelle's nail salon for several years. I myself have gone in and had my nails done several times. The workers at Michelle's Nail Salon have always done their best to accommodate the both of us. As a teenager, I worked in the service industry and know firsthand what it takes to make sure some people are satisfied. Sure, not everyone is going to give them 5 stars but I will. Special thanks to Marina and JoAnn who have done our nails for years and Andy the massager.
