Rushed to the city to see my younger sister perform and they refused to let me in to see her. They didn’t care what it took for me to come down to see her and how unreliable the MTA is, a 45 min commute took me a 1hr and half. They wouldn’t even let me see her from the door way and refused to give me a refund.
They took away an experience from me and something so meaningful for my sister. Evil thing to do.
What a great place to be. The old Merce Cunningham studios, where years ago I actually met Merce and watched him reheard with his company. The same studio I presented my first dance performance in New York and where I performed many times with many underground dance companies. I love to think of the history and the legacies between Merce and Martha. I bet they would have a laugh if they knew. It is great to know that the Martha Graham heritage continues to live through more students and dancers, carrying the love and passion for modern dance. The studios are beautiful and the main one turns into a performing space, with a descent number of seats. Though it appears out of the way, it is a few blocks walk from the E and L trains on 14th streets. Lots of places to eat and shop around.
