About Life Time
Life Time 23rd Street is an athletic country club featuring a spacious fitness floor that offers unlimited studio classes, a large indoor lap pool, and a cedarwood sauna with towel service. The gym presents a wide range of equipment in a high-end environment. Members generally appreciate the assistance from trainers who help them find specific machines. The atmosphere is friendly and vibrant, making it a suitable spot in New York City. However, some members have raised concerns about maintenance issues, cleanliness, and management. The sauna has been noted as being dirty and having lint buildup, and there have been complaints about the senior locker room staff being rude. Recent feedback has highlighted additional concerns, such as blocked pathways that pose safety risks and areas designated for stretching that are not being respected. Despite these issues, many members have enjoyed their experience, particularly with personal training sessions. One trainer, Chase, has received praise for being helpful and patient, making members feel comfortable and tailoring workouts to meet their fitness goals. Nonetheless, there are complaints about insufficient bikes, squat racks, and cable machines, which tend to be full during peak hours. Some members feel the gym layout could be improved for better use of space, especially for stretching and group classes that take up a lot of room. Despite these challenges, Life Time offers a comprehensive fitness experience for its members.
Overall pleasant experience. I would suggest using less eucalyptus in the steam room. I’m usually a fan of it, but it’s absolutely overbearing to the point that it stings my eyes.
Really cramped, It's a nice gym and all but walking in the setup was slightly confusing because it's a small lifetime. It's hard to get on machines and squat racks are almost never free.
While I like the gym by itself, what I don't like is that people blocked the paths for egress in what are clearly walkways and one even to an emergency exit. People are on the floor stretching in areas that should be designated against that. It's dangerous and annoying.
