Can't believe I have yet to review this wonderfulbusiness. Laura has been grooming my shih tzu Cooper every month for the last 6 or 7 years. We have used her when we lived in flatiron, Brooklyn heights and now park slope. She does an incredible job every time and is super knowledgeable about pet health and well being. Cooper has always had skin allergies and she often offers great resources and ideas. I initially switched to Laura from a store front groomer because I hated how crowded and chaotic the place would get. With hair of dog, your pooch gets one on one attention and is well taken care of. If you have a nervous dog consider Hair of The Dog Pet Spa. 100/10! My dog (Polly) is very very nervous when it comes to groomers and pretty much everything else that moves or makes noise. Laura took the time to allow Polly to ease into the van and get comfortable from her. She gave frequent updates throughout the session! She allotted 2 hours for Polly because she knew she was a nervous dog and wanted to allow her time to get comfortable! Within a half hour of dropping her off, Polly was ready and BEAUTIFULLY groomed. We've been clients of hair of the dog pet spa for 5 years and never going to anyone else. Laura Jayne and her team are not just super professional but complete artists. I was lucky to get the referral for their service after two failed attempts at other groomer locations in NYC, that left my puppy looking less than her best self. I highly recommend them.
