I’m not a member of this particular club but I was in the area and gave it a try. I’m not a big guy but even I felt it was a small space, real tight. I found myself moving carefully not bump into anyone. I didn’t see too many trainers or coaches walking around aimlessly so I guess that’s a good sign. They all had clients but were totally cool letting me know where things were (as it’s all randomly spread out). Maintenance definitely needs to step their game up cleaning those showers. There seems to be some questionable activity in that basement and fellas, get a room. ?Bring your shower shoes . You’ve been warned ☣️
The ugliest of the equinox gyms in Manhattan: low ceiling, too hot, terrible distribution of the few machines they have. Looks more like the cheap gyms that cost about 30 dollars a month. Also, they close really early and are closed on Sunday. To be qualified as part of equinox, an extreme (impossible in such a small place) renovation and change of opening hours policy is needed.
The oldest equinox in the city and they just increased the rates to over $200/month. I wrote them and asked why the increase, and of course they just gave me the runaround. They have had the same classes for over 4 years. While their instructors are good, I would recommend going to another equinox, if you want to stay in the equinox family. Also, it seems that the classes are partly empty now. Looks like a lot of their members left.
