My previous experience (many years ago) with physical therapy made me very skeptical (The prescribed exercises seemed like a joke.), and resistant. (I didn't have the time to block it out, and didn't want to pay even the co-pays several times a week.) I shared these attitudes with Dr. Patel in my initial consultation. I needn't have feared. Dr. Patel and the other professionals that tended to me over a period of about four months were personable and obviously skilled, and they definitely put me through the paces. As a result, I made good progress (rotator surgery), and was inspired, not only to consistently do the work myself between appointments, but just to get in better all-round shape. I walk a lot and work out pretty consistently, but I became aware of neglected muscle groups and future injury prone part of my body that needed attention.
