“St. Anthony's driving teachers educate students on 1. how to drive, 2. NYS road rules, 3. being aware of their surroundings, and 4. dealing with distractions (such as cellphones and the other kids in the car who are also taking the course).Classes are given weekly over a 4 month period on the same day each week. They consist of an hour lecture and an hour and a half of shared driving. The teacher sits in the passenger seat and four students rotate between sitting in the back and taking their turn in the driver's seat. What is taught MUST be studied and practiced at home before the next class, which requires the presence and guidance of a licenced adult. The teacher is a teacher, not a magician, and without reading the manual and spending time behind the wheel, your teen won't gain the confidence they'll need, placing themselves and other's at risk.St. Anthony's cost for group driving lessons is exactly average for Long Island. If you prefer private instruction, there are places listed online (at a much higher fee). You will still need to practice with your son/daughter at home, and they will still need to study the driving manual and memorize NYS driving rules, not just for the test, but literally for their lives.4 Stars Because: If you attend this course but do not go to this school, you will generally find yourself treated by the other kids as if you do not exist.Recommendation: Absolutely worth it for what it teaches if you attend this high school or if you are coming in from the outside and are confident enough not to let cliques bother you.“

54 Sunnyside Blvd # J, Plainview“I had the pleasure of taking driving lessons with Paulette, and I can confidently say she is an outstanding instructor. From the very beginning, Paulette made me feel at ease behind the wheel with her calm and patient demeanor. Paulette takes the time to explain things clearly, breaking down each maneuver and making sure you fully understand before moving on. She tailors her lessons to your individual needs, adjusting her approach depending on your level of experience. Her constructive feedback is always encouraging, and she never makes you feel rushed, which really helps to build both skills and confidence. She’s punctual, reliable, and always positive, creating an environment that’s both supportive and motivating. Thanks to Paulette, I not only passed my driving test but also feel confident and safe on the road. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a top-notch driving instructor!“

2900 Hempstead Tpke, Levittown“Cannot recommend East Meadow Driving School enough! I had a not-great experience with another school and had failed my road test. After just a couple of lessons with Julius, I passed my re-test with flying colors. Julius's was a calm, clear and encouraging instructor. He helped me polish my fundamental driving skills, answered my questions, and talked through how to approach the judgement calls that come up constantly on the road. Whereas other schools only seem focused on getting you a pass on the road test, Julius and East Meadow Driving School also ensure you are safe and confident driver.“
“I started taking classes with Donna in April 2024. I had no prior driving experience, except for a few lessons I'd taken with another school that's gone out of business since then. I had a few choices of different schools, but Techniques Made Easy seems to have the best pricing for lesson packages, rather than paying for individual lessons. Once the lessons began, Donna helped me build confidence and develop my basic driving skills. Over time, she then helped me fine tune what needed some more work, like parallel parking and 3 point turns. Then, she helped me get a grip on other things that made me nervous, like driving on main roads and changing lanes. She's very professional and very personable at the same time, easy to talk to. She pays close attention to areas a student might need to improve in, but is very patient and offers guidance on how to correct them. She'll teach you so many essential things, like proper seat and steering wheel and mirror positioning, and for me a really big one was learning how to use hand over hand technique for better control of steering. I'm so grateful that I found the right instructor to show me the way. I had really bad anxiety about driving when the lessons started over a year ago, but continued booking lessons to gain more experience and build muscle memory. As we continued driving together, I kept making more and more progress. A lot of things she taught me involved steps, and she was consistent in making sure I knew all the steps and which order to do them. Through my entire learning journey Donna was very encouraging, and any questions I had for her as a potentially new driver, she always gave her honest opinion. Fast forward to May of this year, I finally felt more prepared and comfortable with my driving and told her I was ready for the road test. There were a few breaks in our weekly lessons last year due to financial stress, which is why lessons went on for over a year. If I could've afforded more frequent classes, I think I would've taken my road test a lot sooner. But in any case, better late than never. And what do you know...I passed on my first try! I hear a lot of people don't pass on the first attempt, so let that be a testament to the fact that Donna is a fantastic instructor and will truly prepare you to be a smart and cautious driver.“

30 Vernon Valley Rd, East Northport“Took lessons with them and passed the road test but they have scheduling problems. They had to take me to the road test under a second instructor because my teacher was already booked for a lesson on my road test day. Also the car that I took my road test in the brakes sounded so bad I could almost guarantee it needed new calipers / rotors and it also had stiff power steering.
Also all of my lessons were on local roads only once did I go on a more than 2 lane road barring turning lanes and it was for a second at that, and keep in mind I took like 13 lessons
They said I would need a drivers license before teaching the expressway / parkway.
Make sure you get a package because they schedule and take you to your road test.“
