“I have to be honest. Not a fan of some businesses today. It's like the old ways are lost starting with integrity. But 5th avenue paving is old school. They deserve an award. Not just for their work, but for their compassion and integrity. Right as we begin construction we were handed a devastating loss. The last thing I could focus on was our driveway and walkway and needed to put everything on hold. I'm not talking for a few days, I'm talking several months. And not once were we hassled. They would check in with us every now and then just to touch base and asked how we were doing. And when we were ready they came out and did a fantastic job. Then after that crazy winter we had, we had a problem with some of the Belgian block at the base of the driveway (easily could have been from one of the plows). However, there was no hassle. I called them on a Thursday. Sent them some pictures. I figured it's going to be a back and forth thing. Instead, later that day I got a phone call and said they will be there on Monday. They fixed everything perfectly. Haven't had a problem since.
I should also mention the pricing. I was getting estimates that were way out of line. Like into the absurd category. And everybody was telling me that costs had doubled and tripled and quadrupled and every excuse under the sun. They were so outrageous that I was actually going to go to a tool rental place and take out the driveway myself and just put down seed and gravel. Found out I could legally do that. I was not going to spend the cost of a nice car on a driveway. A landscaping friend of mine reminded me of this company. I didn't even know they were still around. My family and neighbors used them when I was a kid and that was quite a few decades ago. Since I lived over by the Babylon area and now live out east on the North shore, I didn't think they'd even come out here. They did. When I got there pricing, I couldn't believe it.
In this day and age it's nice to know you can find a good quality company for a reasonable price that backs up their work. To the fine folks of 5th avenue paving, including Tom, Bill, and Carlos, thank you. Strong recommend and referral.“

“Highly recommend Smith Point Fence. I went in around 9 AM spoke with Kevin with an emergency gate issue, and by 1 PM my fence was fully repaired with new hinges, proper alignment, and the drop rod fixed.

Once they understood that I have a mostly nonverbal child with autism and that the broken gate was a real safety concern, they made every effort to help quickly.
