Big milestone today while preparing for kindergarten. Haircuts have always been a challenge for my son but today was the first day he sat for a cut on his own. About a year ago we began going to Dapper Cuts in Massapequa Park on a recommendation that they were good with children. Before the first appointment I called and spoke with the owner Lazer about the challenges my son faces and ever since the first appointment Lazer has taken care to provide my son with the best experience possible. The first cut was difficult and resulted in a patchy #1 buzz cut as my son resisted and I did my best to hold him on my lap. Over time we progressed to cleaner cuts and even a fade, leading up to today as he receieved a clean fade while sitting in the chair by himself for the first time in his life. I’m very proud of him and thankful for the care and compassion he’s been given over this time. We even hung around the shop afterwards and my son began to feel comfortable there.
