Moves & Motions School of Dance

Moves and Motions has been family to me for more than two decades now. We discovered the studio in 1996 while researching acro programs in the area - looking for an activity for our 10 year old daughter. Long story short, she loved the school, her instructors, all the many friends she made there over the years and they loved her right back. Fast forward 20 years later. Long after my daughter left for college, Moves and Motions opened a new second studio in Glendale. I’d walk past it often and remember the instruction, care, support and friendships she’d made with them in Middle Village. I remembered how the school’s busy schedule kept her disciplined and focused - not just in dance but in school and her life. Then along came my Granddaughter - happy, energetic and craving social activity. We enrolled her in a couple classes a week when she was 2 years old. She’s now 10 and Moves and Motions is truly her happy place. It gives me so much joy to watch her amazing growth. This is not JUST a school of dance - the skills she’s learned there affect every aspect of her personality. The confidence they develop to perform on stage transfers to everything they do. They cheer and support their fellow dancers as they form friendships and memories that will last forever. They not only work hard to put together great performances, but they also celebrate birthdays, holidays and everyday life events together. There is no place my Granddaughter would rather be. Moves and Motions is my Granddaughter’s home away from home and her safe zone. The other students, both younger and older, are her siblings. The instructors are family. And she just happens to be turning into a wonderful trained dancer who is also empathetic, well rounded and can’t wait to get back to the studio. I am so thankful.
