“Most of my lessons were with Tony and the last couple with Dwight. I had lessons with a different driving school in the Bx about 7 years ago (where one instructor watched shows on his phone while I drove) and without a doubt, Tony and Dwight were great instructors- attentive, patient, kind, honest, and motivational. I appreciated the flexibility and willingness to work with my atypical work schedule and other issues that arose during my time completing the 10 class package. They're working with numerous humans all with varied schedules and they made it work and were communicative when something didn't. I had 2 lessons a week most weeks because I kept in touch with the office regularly to schedule and the only gap was to help accommodate my last few lessons near my road test. By the time that day arrived, I was more confident in my driving skills than I recalled being during months' worth of lessons with that other school many years ago. And I passed my exam! Absolutely would recommend.”
“I had lessons with three different instructors: Lewin, Damir and Maria, who were all great! I preferred Damir (who I believe I learned the most technical driving skills from), but all three were calm and easy to understand. (Unlike instructors from other driving schools in the area.) They were always on time and if they were early or needed to change the date of the lesson, they let me know in advance. The only thing that was confusing is that they all had different ways of parallel parking. (Also, I'd never driven before I started driving with NMD, so it would have been nice to get info on headlights and windshield wiper maneuvers before my very last lesson).<br><br>I had my 5 hour driving course with Julliehus, who was conversational and laid back the whole time. NMD does a good job of informing students how and when to pick up your certificate after this course.<br><br>My only real criticism about NMD is that I had to call the office every time I needed to schedule a lesson, get the car for my test, or change something. The receptionists were professional, but not the friendliest. It felt like I was bothering them or something, (but I guess most U.S. receptionists are like this so it's not a big deal). Other schools allow you go through their website. I'm not sure why NMD has an account portal if you can't use it to schedule lessons.”
“I am a 73 years old retired airline Captain cum instructor pilot / examiner.<br>Despite more than 50 years of driving experience in various Asian countries, here in the States is completely different world.<br>Honestly there was a steep learning curve for an old man like me to catch them up all.<br>I underwent road test on my own in May 14, 2026 and obviously I failed badly that first attempt.<br>I immediately came to realise that I must take proper driving course at reputable driving school.<br>After intensive research I found the right school in Eastchester.<br>When I arrived the school, the front desk manager lady was very friendly and listened attentively to my issues and my objectives.<br>She assured me to assign one of the best instructors in the New York Auto School exclusively for me.<br>In this way Mr. Mario became my driving instructor and he taught me, inspired me and fixed me for four consecutive days.<br>Honestly speaking he was an exceptional instructor with vast knowledge and skill and most importantly kind, patient and motivated.<br>Without his superb teaching skills, guidance and easy to remember driving tips, I wouldn’t have passed the road test conducted on June 26, 2026.<br>My deepest gratitude goes to my instructor Mr. Mario as I owe him a lot.<br>Besides I should mention about the training vehicle provided by the school.<br>Using the right car is extremely crucial in road test.<br>The provided car by the school was the right size, not too large and nor too cramp but very much student friendly.<br>No challenging at all for the inexperienced student driver on various phases of test like driving, changing lane, turning, parking, backing etc.<br>lastly but not least I would like to say thank you to the front desk manager lady for assigning me Mr. Mario.<br>This is old man honest review and hope it will help for the parents who are looking for a good school for their kids in this summer time.<br>Good luck to you all and many more successful business now and forever to New York Auto School!”
