Just walked out of getting adjusted by Matt and it was by far the best adjustment I’ve ever had. I explained my problems and the lower body pain I was experiencing and he did precisely what I was looking for.
Dr. Tasha and Dr. Matt are massage therapists and chiropractors. I love how they treat the whole body. They relax the muscles then adjust if that what you need. They also really listen to your issues and work hard to try to figure out what could be the problem and then offer a solution.
Dr. Tonya Westerbeke had her life changed by a chiropractor when she was young. She went to college for chiropractic medicine, and opened her first practice, called Back to Health, in 2006 in Michigan. Soon after, she realized she could help more people by expanding, and Back to Health became a training facility for the best chiropractic doctors from around the country to help them train and prepare for their future offices. For years, I had been under the impression that I had sciatica. I woke up one day at least 5 years ago unable to get out of bed thanks to a searing pain that shot from my lower back down my leg into my feet. It was debilitating and I dealt with it for 3 months before it finally faded. After that, I'd occasionally get the pain, but nothing like those first few months. Fast forward five years, and I'm starting to get this pain anytime I walk longer than five minutes. I literally can't even go grocery shopping or walk on a treadmill for longer than 5 minutes without this awful pain shooting down my back and leg, which would eventually go completely numb down to my toes. It was extremely frustrating that as a 30 year old, I couldn't do simple every day tasks because of this pain. My cousin ended up telling me about Dr. Delvin Gomez at Back to Health. She'd dealt with the same symptoms I had for years, but I had no idea, and she said after one appointment with him, she was pain free for the first time in years. She didn't even have sciatica as she'd thought. I'd went to a chiropractor years ago when the pain first started to no avail, other than temporary relief right after the session, but I figured I'd give it a try. If he could help her with the same symptoms, perhaps he could help me as well. And he did. The first appointment with him usually lasts an hour - 90 minutes. He does several tests to determine whether or not your issue is neurological, muscular, or disc related. He also explains everything to you in ways you can easily understand and make complete sense of. He was able to diagnose what was wrong with me in about a half hour, and it had nothing to do with sciatica. He showed me how all parts of my body were compensating for an injury I didn't even know I had, and how my whole body was suffering because of it. He also showed me how some of my problems stem from the fact that I have flat feet, and because of that, my body doesn't align correctly and it's causing me other problems. He did several adjustments, including putting my rib back into place (which was the original injury causing all my problems), popping the right side of my hip back into place, and working out all the tension spots in my back that were causing the pain down my leg. He also gave me a foam heel lift to wear for a couple weeks until my body corrects itself, and he demonstrated to me the effect that my feet were having on my body and my strength. The demonstration is hard to put into words, but believe me...it's amazing what an inch thick piece of foam under one of your feet can do for your body and strength, if you have flat feet and don't stand normally like I do. I wasn't even in pain at the moment when I went in for the appointment, but after the adjustments, I still felt a world of difference. It made me realize that I'd accepted the way my body felt as normal, even though it wasn't. I didn't know what normal felt like any longer, but suddenly all my muscles felt loose and completely free of tension and tightness. He also made molds of my feet for custom inserts for my shoes so I can stand normally and my body can align itself. He was also very personable and kind, and confident in his diagnosis and ability to help. His prices are also more than fair, as the appointment only cost me $70, and the custom molds cost $200. He doesn't take insurance, but can give you a form to send in to be reimbursed for anything you spend. But even without being reimbursed, the money was more than worth it to feel normal. He did an amazing job
