My dad is older and has significant cognitive issues. He's quiet and doesn't get chatty- agoraphobic so hates going out.Anyway, the one thing I can encourage is a trip to the barber when it's time. He really doesn't maintain himself without constant prompting so being able to get the nose, ears, neck and evil eyebrows- the extras- they always polish him up right. The best part tho, is that he'll chat and feels good after every trip. It's part of positive therapy. They're nice to everyone and do an excellent job.
