Howes Cave Animal Hospital is a veterinary clinic with over 30 years of experience in providing care for domestic and exotic pets. The hospital is open from Monday to Saturday and accepts cash, checks, and major credit cards. The staff at the hospital are known for their friendly and helpful demeanor, taking the time to understand each pet's personality and listening to the specific needs of their owners.
The clinic is clean and well-organized, with short wait times. During appointments, the vets explain procedures and diagnoses in easy-to-understand language. They care for pets as if they were their own, and owners appreciate the attention given to both them and their pets. The vets listen carefully to concerns and show genuine compassion, especially during difficult times like saying goodbye to a pet.
However, it can be difficult to get a callback for an appointment, and the clinic is not currently accepting new clients, which makes it hard for pet owners to find a local vet. Leaving a message to get a call back may be frustrating. Despite this, the quality of care provided by the vets is highly rated, and many clients feel that the staff genuinely cares about both pets and owners. The prices are also considered affordable, with some reviews mentioning around $100 for a yearly checkup, nail trimming, and vaccinations. Overall, the hospital’s excellent care and compassionate staff make it a trusted choice for many pet owners in the area.

We have been taking our dogs to Howes Cave Animal Hospital for over 20 years. Over that time, we have had 4 dogs. We have been very pleased with the care, professionalism, friendliness, of staff and the doctors and the follow up by the doctors we have worked with. We have dealt with serious life threatening conditions as well as routine regular care with our dogs and have always felt that the doctors were focused on our dogs needs. They have always called to follow up on tests and procedures and spend the time to answer all our questions. We highly recommend Howes Cave Animal Hospital to anyone that is looking for a place that will help them care for their pets.
