I have extreme dentophobia and always struggle to find dentists that are empathetic, patient, and can put me at ease (as much as I can be ‘at ease’). The team at Sonoma Family Dental checked all the boxes. From helping me schedule via email due to being deaf, to taking care of me in the chair, to explaining my treatment plan - every person involved handled me with care and concern.
I had a panic attack in the chair and they were very understanding. No judgement or criticism at all. They let me compose myself, asked me what they could do to help, and made sure the dentist knew how anxious I was before she came in. Dr Patel was equally gracious and calm.

This was my first visit to Sonoma Family Dental and I was so nervous. I had a tooth in pain and general sensitivity as well as fear of dental visits. However the staff really calmed me down. The young lady who did my X-rays was so reassuring and kind and my hygienist was so accommodating and kind to my pain issues. I’m looking forward to my next visit which is something I never said before!
