I learned to drive abroad and hold a foreign DL. However, I wanted to practice my skills on US roads before I gave the NM road test. This driving school was the only one who could accommodate me on a short notice; everyone else said they were too busy for the summer but Eddie made time for me. I went for the 1 hour private lesson plus the NM road test with Eddie. From the start, he boosted my confidence and let me know of my shortcomings. I was a little nervous about driving a pickup, but he made me comfortable by giving some great tips. It was really helpful to have him while driving on US roads. Overall, Coach Al's Driving school was a great experience. All of the driving instructors were involved with the military. The way the school works is that there is classwork and behind-the-wheel time. In total everyone will get at least 4 hours of drive time, with a few lucky people getting 5 hours drive time. The time behind the wheel is unique to coach Al's and makes a huge difference when learning to drive. I found that when I was instructed on what mistakes I was making in the car I could remember them better when I was taught in class. I’m eternally grateful for all the wonderful instructors at Coach Al’ Driving School here in Bernalillo! Those three weeks in Coach Eddie’s class flew by so fast, and I’ve grown so much as a person and a driver during that time. Without your encouragement and guidance, I don’t know if I would’ve ever gotten over my fear of driving! Now I feel like a regular 30-year-old picking up my kids from school and running errands… thank you guys, truly. You really changed my life.
