“I'm not sure where to begin. I chose this doctor for a couple of reasons. First, he participated in my insurance plan. Secondly, his training was at a very very good hospital and his office was not far from my home. Dr. Donato is professional, compassionate, knowledge and a host of other adjectives that should have you making an appt asap. I recently lost my dad and when I began to share the experience, Dr. Donato put down his pen, leaned back in his chair and held such empathic space for me to cry and express my grief. I was in his care for an hour and my appt was right on time. He walked me through the exam and then went through every option to remediate my issues. He is caring and kind, patient and down to earth. I feel lucky to have him as my doctor.“

Dr. Nancy L. Mueller, MD Neurologists

“I've been a patient of Dr. Muellers for about a year now. We met shortly after I was hospitalized for a head injury. I was recommended by my mom whom had been a patient of Dr. Muellers in the past. My experience has always been pleasant. I usually sign in and wait no longer then 10 mins before I am seen. The nurses and office staff are friendly and personable. Dr. Mueller herself is very caring, she explains everything and even had a diagram in office to break down any questions i had. I recommend her to anyone seeking a new neurologist.“

Kaplan Brain & Body Neurologists

“Whether brief or lengthy, any review I compose for Kaplan Brain and Body cannot adequately convey how immensely helpful he and his practice have been to me. I had already been familiar with him from reading his columns in the local newspaper, listening to his AM radio show, and even meeting his dad (also a doctor) at the neighborhood track. Dr. Kaplan's embrace of natural and holistic health habits had always resonated with me; however, I never thought I would become a patient until a particularly bad year of migraines nudged me to make that first phone call. Currently a middle-aged elementary school teacher, I had experienced rare and moderate ocular migraines since childhood. A likely combination of aging, hormones, stress, and a head injury seven years prior culminated in one recent school year with at least ten migraines. The headache episodes were increasing in frequency, aura intensity, pain, nausea, and days-after light sensitivity. My primary care physician, family, and friends understandably told me simply to connect with a typical neurologist for prescriptions or injections. I had always leaned toward more conservative and less invasive medical treatment, so I decided to devote my summer months off from school to exploring what Dr. Kaplan might offer. (I answered loved ones' skepticism with an invitation to tease, "I told you so!", if Dr. Kaplan's treatment fell flat.) I was amazed when Dr. Kaplan's intake eye and brain scans revealed health details about me that he could only have known if I had told him myself. (Other than presenting with migraines, I had not divulged much about my past medical history or current health status and habits.) It was fascinating to learn how my dysregulated nervous system and unbalanced brain activity were manifesting as migraines in my particular situation. Already familiar with "physical therapy" (i.e., "rehab") -- and the resulting improvement -- during previous bouts with knee, hamstring, or hip inflammation, I was all-in with Dr. Kaplan's idea of "neurological physical therapy." That summer, I went weekly for what was effectively "brain rehab." I learned practices and habits to engage my nervous sytem, brain, eyes, and balance. I became familiar with terms like "vagus" and "vestibular" -- and how these terms play into my well-being. I also received cold-laser treatments and head / neck / back adjustments. Outside of appointments, I faithfully did the exercises at home on my own. I made it through that summer with only one migraine, facing the new school year with a mix of hope (but still some lingering worry). Remarkably, that new school year saw me suffer only two migraines. I realize -- and Dr. Kaplan had explained from the start -- that I will never be "cured" of migraines. However, I can have the upper hand in managing them. Since I now know the underlying causes of my migraines -- and I have acquired proven methods to prevent (or lessen them if they do happen) -- I now have a sense of agency with them (as opposed to being victim to them). After those initial eight weeks of summer "brain rehab," I went back to school and weened off my office visits to Dr. Kaplan. I went every two weeks, then three weeks, and now I continue to see him monthly. I continue faithfully to perform my exercises and habits at home. They take some time and discipline, but they are well worth it, because I feel so much better. It is worth noting that in addition to migraine relief, I feel a palpable increase in my overall sense of calm, emotional regulation, and mental clarity. Better brain health -- and feeling empowered by my role in that -- has undoubtedly made my professional and personal lives better, too. A fun and fringe benefit is that I can incorporate many of Dr. Kaplan's practices and mindsets into my daily teaching and interactions with my young students. I have sung Dr. Kaplan's praises to so many others, and I have recommended his practice to anyone suffering a“
