“Living halfway up a small mountain, I've always had a wet yard but for the first time, I started getting water in my home. It didn't help that there was a crack and small hole in the foundation. I had a few "waterproofing" companies come look, both recommending French drains outside. Tom came and looked at the situation, but he viewed it in an entirely different way with a more holistic approach to the entire yard. They regraded the property along the rear of the house, brought in more rock to an existing dog run, cleaned up a decades old pipe along the rear of the property, created a swale, covered the drainpipe with more rock, and smoothed out an extremely rocky "walkway" into the yard. It's been so wet the last few weeks that there is a constant trickle into the yard, ending in a huge pond at the foot of the stairs, which immediately was re-routed to the edge of the yard, away from the house. As Tom said, the best way to keep water out of the house is to keep water away from the house. I'll know for sure the next time we have heavy rain, but it looks great, and it definitely seems like it will make a huge difference in the flow. They came in quickly, worked extremely hard in cold weather, and got it all done in a day. I couldn't be more pleased with the finished product. Not to mention, there was another part of the proposal but once they started, Tom and his brother were of the opinion that it wouldn't be necessary, saving me hundreds of dollars, which, given the cost to do a job of this size was truly appreciated. If you need hardscape landscaping, give them a call. You won't be disappointed.“

“Kodiak just finished up installing our new stone driveway earlier today and I have to say that they did a great job! Bob, the owner, was thorough when he first came over to do measurements and assess the job back in November. He answered all of my questions and made some suggestions about things that I hadn't even considered. Unfortunately, we had to wait a few months since the winter weather didn't want to cooperate. But once the temps warmed up a little, the Kodiak guys were here to get started. Danny and his crew showed up on time every single day, bright and early, and went right to work. I'm not the lurking/hovering type. (Well, other than watching the tractors, machines and some of the procedures they use during construction...I guess I'm still a kid at heart!) But anytime I stepped outside or glanced out the front door, these guys were always working. The only time they stopped was for their lunch break. Every night after they were through (and many times mid-job) they swept and shoveled away loose soil, stones and pebbles that may have gotten loose around the work area. They answered every question I had about the job. And all of them were ALWAYS polite and cheerful. A really nice group of guys that I'm sure Bob is proud to have working for him. Definitely give Kodiak a call if you need a landscaping job done. Top notch!“

“Almost a five-star rating i'd give them 4.5. Very clean work. Friendly people, very good pricing. If they asked, I would've taken down a section of fence where a stump was so they could grind the whole stump. However, they didn't ask and a small section of stump wasn't ground .“

“After years of neglect we finally decided on having our 2 driveways done. Bob and his crew came in and did an excellent job. 1 driveway was resurfaced the other was ripped up and completed about a week later after the compacted crushed stone settled.“
“120723 - Update. Mr. Tode was extremely kind and easy to work with. He rectified every issue with our landscaping plan. In the spring of ‘23 our garden was redone. The front of our house has shade on one side and sunny exposure on the other. He redesigned the front of our home with plants and shrubs that were similar in color and appeal that would thrive in their respective areas. We are very happy and would recommend working with Mr. Tode.I don’t have pictures at this time, but will add in the spring.092922 - Update. The owner of Tode Landscaping reached out to us and kindly offered to fix the issues with our project. I will update again with pictures when complete.We hired Tode Landscaping because of their reviews, and we needed to hire professionals to design our residential landscaping after a big renovation project. We did not have the luck of working with Greg or Mike, they had great reviews. We worked with another account manager (AH). During the process we went over the sun/shade exposure of our property, as it makes it more challenging, but we were flexible on species and colors. We took the account managers advice on plantings. He assured us they were suitable for their location and gave us a beautiful color print out. It went downhill quickly from there. The plantings and installation were mediocre. Some of the plants detailed on our invoice were listed as 3 gallon plants, but were clearly not. Several plants were sticking out of the ground, some were planted in the wrong location. They were eventually moved by Tode’s crew, but showed signs they weren’t surviving. We notified the account manager shortly after, who said it's normal (new plants dying is normal??) He said he’d come by, but never did. I will add that we had our sprinkler system redone for this project, and had input from the Tode landscape designer to make sure the new garden had proper irrigation. The following spring '22, all 14 of one variety of plant, and several others never came back. What did come back were sun starved plants in the shady section, scraggily and sickly looking, leaning out for sunshine, and more than half a garden that never thrived all spring and summer and are dying a slow death. When I contacted the account manager he said we could buy more plants from them and they would install them. We declined, considering they never installed them correctly in the first place. After spending $10K+ we were, and still are extremely disappointed with poor design, execution and customer service. Bottom line - would NOT recommend.“
