“So there are two listings for the same salon. I will be duplicating this review for the other listing since there are two.
This listing and reviews are what brought me to Waves.
I needed a haircut badly. My hair had many dead ends and was frizzing and tangling easily.
After seeing whose name came up the most I went to Noreen for my cut and style.
Booking the appointment was so easy. I made the appointment online which was great for me. It was also a day they were closed so I didn’t have to worry about waiting for them to open and forgetting to call. I can always book it whenever. And the text/email reminders were so helpful.
I was worried about parking but that turned out to be a nonissue. The area of Cranford is very nice but isn’t as busy as the downtown area. It is street parking. But not metered. And I found a spot right out front in the shade! It is currently an excessive heat watch so shade is helpful. And I mean it was right out front and it was an end spot so I didn’t even have to parallel park.
I got there a little early. Checked in and everyone was very nice. They made sure I didn’t park in the back lot which is for residents. So helpful.
I met Noreen and she was so very nice.
I got my hair washed by Fiona and she was also very nice. Easy to chat with. The chair and sink were very comfortable. Sometimes the sinks hurt my neck but this was not an issue. It was very relaxing.
Then Noreen and I talked about what I wanted done with my hair. She made extra sure that I was comfortable with the length of my hair and my new curtain bangs and face frame. Did exactly what I wanted and did it amazingly!
Sometimes stylists want to “thin” out my thick hair or give me layers but I prefer not to get that done. Noreen did not do this which I appreciated. She really was attentive. Again she also was so easy to talk to. So friendly.
She knew I was going out that night and styled my hair wonderfully. Even told me how to freshen it up later and how to recreate the look on my own.
I was curious about the MagicShield keratin treatment and she told me everything about it! Not only the price but how long it would take, four hours, which is important information! Informed on everything. It was very helpful.
Finally I’ll just comment on the salon itself. It’s pretty large but not crowded which is nice. Plenty of space between stylists so you’re not crammed in. It looks very sleek. Plenty of light. A nice sitting area. I really do love how open it was. It was also clean and updated. Lots of natural light as well.
There was no surprise charges and they even had Apple Pay available. The receptionist knew who washed my hair and everything I had done. I was able to leave a tip in an envelope with her so I didn’t have to find or interrupt anyone.
So to sum it up I will be going back and I do highly suggest this salon.

Requested style: I wanted a significant amount of hairs cut and a curtain bang that flowed into a face frame.

Hair type: Very long hair to a tad longer than shoulder length. Very thick and takes longer to cut and is harder to cut well. Noreen cut it amazingly well.

Stylist: Noreen was amazing and so very nice. Was able to handle my thick hair.“

“When I say I have found a NEW HOME NAIL SALON!!! THIS IS IT!! SHE RESHAPED MY NAILS PERFECTLY!!! When I came, my nails were bulky and really long. I wanted them shorter to maneuver a little bit more in my day to day.

She came up with suggestions, talked me through what would be better for my nails. It was like my nails went through surgery. I wish I can show yall a b4 and after pic because once she was done; it was EXACTLY how I pictured it in my mind.

PERFECT!! I Was in awe of how good of a job she did. I forgot her name but she is the owner. Prices are A1. Not overcharged prices. And the work is PROFESSIONAL. THIS IS THE BEST WORK I'VE SEEN IN YEARS!!! IT is a very peaceful and intimate setting.

I got my appointment 10am when they 1st opened; they were busy from the 1st time opening and the owner was very informative and communicative on NAILS PERIOD. They offer snacks and drinks. Parking on the street is available.

I found a design I wanted beforehand and she literally freestyled the rest of my fingers- I actually was IMPRESSED. I WOULD RECOMMEND HERE FOR EVERYONE. THANK YOU TO THE OWNER WHO RECONSTRUCTED MY NAILS AND THE GREAT CONVERSATION. I WILL BE COMING ONCE A MONTH. THATS WHEN SHE SAID THEY WILL LAST UNTIL. I APPRECIATE YOU ??????????“

“Camille is very accommodating and knowledgeable when it comes to bleach blonde and thick, unruly, hair. She is patient, listens to what your needs and desires are, and truly wants you to be happy and excited when you leave her chair all this with a beautiful smile. It is very difficult to get my hair the right color, with a great blow dry and curl that lasts and lasts but she nails it every time! I highly recommend her! The owner Kim is awesome and very welcoming as well as the staff. Just a great vibe all around. You won’t be disappointed.“

Terika was warm and welcoming.. she listened to all my hair concerns before even starting on my hair... once at the sink for shampooing I was pretty much sleep as she massaged my scalp on top of washing my hair so well...
