I came to Hamrah’s after having our hardwood floors refinished because I wanted to protect our stairs from the heavy use that had ruined them to begin with. I had already researched companies online that specifically sell stair runners. I had even ordered a few samples that were disappointingly cheap looking, but expensive nonetheless.
I first talked to Bob George, one of the owners of Hamrah’s, on the phone. He educated me on the ins and outs of stair runners, and what I could expect if I chose to purchase a rug remnant from Hamrah’s and have them cut, bind, and install it in my home. We hired Hamrah in Plainfield to install carpet in our finished basement. Hamrah did an excellent job. Hamrah has a wide selection of carpeting and the owner Bob George was helpful with suggestions. Perhaps even more importantly, the installation crew of Carlos and Nelson was excellent! They were easy to deal with, offered creative suggestions to address an unusual condition in our basement (sewer drain vent cut into the floor) and handled the job as if they were doing their own basement. We would hire Hamrah again.

If you are seeking expert care of your home carpeting, you would be wise to entrust the job to S. K. Hamrah Carpet & Rug Co. Hamrah has twice cleaned my wool areas carpets, and despite their age and their level of wear they look and feel wonderful. The carpets were beautifully cleaned, the pile brought back to life, and the colors are again very vibrant. Bob and his staff do a phenominal job. I am glad I again made the investment to have then cleaned by experts. A bonus is Hamrah carries an amazing selection of carpeting in its showroom, so if you are in the market for a not run-of-the-mill quality selection, have a look.
