Our experience with Crossroads home care went above and beyond our expectations. My mother was slated to be released from the hospital on the 4th of July. Her only wish was to spend her final days in her home. I did realize that the care she needed was beyond my ability. I had called Crossroads at 6:00 am on July 3rd and had received a text back with in 5 minutes . the text read “would it be ok if I give you a call?” Of course! I received that call less than a minute later. In speaking with Greg I quickly felt this was were I needed to be. With the holiday being the next day I thought they might want to push the consultation to the following week. I was so surprised when Greg said he would meet with us that very evening in my mother’s home. In meeting with them I knew that my mother would be in good hands. They had asked if my mother’s interests and things she like to talk about and anything else that would make her experience with a live in aide more comfortable. To our surprise they had 5 aides that would fit the profile. He had selected Joyce but, he mentioned that if for some reason it was not a perfect match he could have another aide replace her with in one hour. Joyce was the perfect match! She is the most compassionate, caring, warm, knowledgeable person. She quickly became a part of the family. She sang with my mom and they laughed together all of the time. I would even hear my mom telling Joyce how much she loved her.Most importantly she helped us fulfill our mother’s dying wishes. Greg texted me quite a bit to check in. Joyce warmly greeted all of my mother’s visitors. She was unwavering in her care of my mother. Joyce was there with our whole family bedside when my mother took her last breath. We cried together, shared memories together and I cant tell you how much we miss her. Joyce was able to attend my mother’s wake and we insisted that she sit with us. I listened to everyone who visited my mom thank Joyce and commend her on the care she gave my mom. I knew that we had made the right choice. Crossroads and Joyce were truly a Godsend in our time of need.
