So disorganized. They call my father in law who passed away 8 years ago only because his name is close to my husband's name. Not close enough though. -- I appreciate Gretel reaching out but we gave up after eight years of telling them this. We're not going through hoops no more."
These big employment agencies are joke. Especially this one they keep calling and emailing before you come in to meet them, right after they are silent... I emailed them multiple times, to multiple recruiters and never heard a response, only once did someone call me back. At my job I work at now (thanks to the help from another agency), it's required to answer all emails sent me, maybe you should train your employees to do the same
These people are the worst to work with. I went to them looking for a temp position for the summer since the full time job I accepted starts in November. I specifically stated where I was located and the type of work I was looking for. I found several positions on their website that I felt fit my current preferences to which they would respond saying they felt they had better matches (first red flag them thinking they knew what fit me better than I did). Then kept coming to me with jobs a decent ride from where I'm located so I felt compelled to just go on one of the interviews to check it out since I felt at that point there would be no other choice in terms of location. (Mind you I'm from the New York metro area so it is not like I live in the middle of nowhere and far from many job opportunities) After going on an interview, I knew the position was not what I was look for but the very pushy team insisted it was "perfect for me". It was not even a role with any relevance to what I have a degree in. I told them I would consider but never formally got in touch with anyone to say I wanted the position/what are the details. In fact I had said if there other opportunities available that would be more fitting please send them my way. I did not hear from anyone for a few days and finally got an email on May 28th at 4:00pm to say I would be starting the assignment (that I never formally accepted) on May 29th at 9:00am. Talk about short notice !! Not even a phone call either, literally a last minute email. At this point my back was sort of against the wall as they clearly had relayed to the company I was starting. I tried reaching out them in which one one responded to me, and since I actually have a sense of professionalism I went to the assignment the first day since the company was expecting me and I did want to not show up since the miscommunication was not on their end, it was completely on Robert Half. As expected, the role was far from what I was looking for as it was heavily based in operations and my degree as well as experience is in accounting and taxation. I also had made clear I needed part time work as I was taking CPA prep courses in which Robert Half said they would work that out for me..spoiler they did not. The contract for the temp assignment was also through January when I had stated I am only available until September. This experience made me realize these people are incompetent, unprofessional, and only want to get people positions in which they will get the highest cut. They are not client driven and do next to nothing to really help people in what they are looking for. They are unorganized and honestly their "recruiters" and "staffing specialists" are a bunch of uneducated momo's. Would never recommend Robert Half to anyone.
