Dr. Roger Pollack did a complete shoulder replacement on my wife about 7 years ago and she has full range of motion to this day. I believe Dr. Pollack specializes in shoulders and we found him to be serious, committed, polite and very talented. He took his time with us and we never felt rushed during my wife's appointments. We highly recommend Dr. Pollack.
Dr. Pollock replaced my shoulder about 10 years ago. It is perfect! Have not had one bit of trouble. I will say that doctor is all business, not so much bedside manner but who cares, he gave me excellent medical care and I have recommended him many times and will continue to do so.
Dr. Roger Pollock's Surgical Expertise and Precision Translate into Great Range of Motion in My Total Shoulder Replacement. I am presently 5 weeks post-op. with a total shoulder replacement. I continue to be amazed at how much range of motion my new shoulder already exhibits with passive stretching. My arm remains in a sling while my soft tissues surrounding my new shoulder joint heal. I look forward to the beginning of PT in a few weeks when my soft tissues have healed enough that I can start re-building shoulder strength and continue getting complete range of motion (raising my arm straight up above my head and external rotation). Dr. Pollock has been clear, concise and honest during my initial evaluation, pre-surgical visits and with his visits with me in the hospital immediately following the replacement surgery. He also explained exactly what I can expect in the first 6 weeks and then going into the next few months post-op. I am impressed with his professionalism and more so with his concern for my personal well-being. He checked in on me twice on the day of the surgery and called the hospital floor twice after he went home to check on my nerve block and how I was doing with pain management that evening. He told me that I would be discharged 2 days after the surgery if all went well. He checked on me in person the day after the surgery and again, called the hospital floor at least once that evening, specifically to find out how I was doing with pain management. I have to admit that my pain was far less intense than I had anticipated from other patients who had total shoulder replacement surgeries with varied surgeons. Dr. Pollock stressed the importance of the passive motion stretches to keep the joint mobile. He reviewed the stretches with my husband and myself both days during my hospital stay. I liked that he explained WHY we should only go to 30 degrees for external rotations and why I was to keep the sling on 23 hours a day so the soft tissues could heal fully since that will drive the long-term success of the replacement surgery. Once I selected a date for the surgery, he explained each step/test that I needed to complete before the surgery (both why each was necessary and the timeline to complete all pre-surgical tests). His office staff is efficient, friendly, and helpful. I am sure that Patti would have contacted me if any pre-surgical tests had not been received by Dr. Pollock. If your shoulder needs attention, I recommend that you make an appointment to consult with Dr. Pollock (201-612-9774). His office address is 1 West Ridgewood Ave, Paramus, NJ, Suite 202. You will see his dedication, attention to detail, professionalism, and most importantly his shoulder expertise even the first time that you meet him. He is affiliated with Valley Hospital (in Ridgewood), which also added to my positive surgical experience. I have complete confidence with absolutely no reservations about recommending Dr. Roger Pollock for total shoulder replacement surgery. I will post a new update on yelp in about 6 months, after I have completed PT and I can truly report on my entire recovery process.
