    Atlantic Mechanical replaced our HVAC system. Kevin came to our home for a thorough inspection of our old units before giving us a detailed and fairly priced quote. We did not have to wait long for the installation which was done over 2 days as we were replacing 2 large units. The 4 workers on the job were prompt, professional & polite. There was virtually no mess to clean up when they were done. My husband & I were very happy with the service we received from AMI.Service: Heating system installation

    We have used Atlantic Mechanical many times over the years for a variety of HVAC-related services, including complete replacement of our furnace and AC system. Today Bob came out from Atlantic to do a seemingly straightforward furnace check for the coming heating season. As he went down the stairs, as he later told us, he noticed he was becoming light-headed. He immediately checked our gas appliances and determined that our dryer was not venting properly to the outside and carbon monoxide was accumulating in the house. He directed me to open all windows and he set about fixing the problem. All was taken care of, but Bob literally saved our lives. Talk about service above and beyond!!! I have told management at Atlantic and will tell all our friends.

    We were torn between putting 5 stars or 3 stars. To be fair we decided on 4 stars, the reason being that each time over the 3-4 years of doing business with this company we were satisfied with the work that was done. The reason for wanting to put 3 stars down would be for dealing with the office manager. We have used this company to do maintenance on our ductless air conditioners each year and this last time was to fix and replace a part that was under warranty. The first issue we had with the office manager we chalked it up to a misunderstanding. The second time the bill didn't reflect what was quoted over the phone. This last time, which I blame myself for not getting her estimated quote over the phone in writing, the bill had added charges for a "Helper" (which was never discussed) and an extra hour was charged for service time. (Hence, being charged for 3 1/2 hours when it was only 2 hours) I requested to speak to one of the owners but she told me that she is married to one of the owners and that she will be taking care of this issue. Her mannerism over the phone could use some polishing. After deliberating over the phone about the bill, she did take off the "Helper" charges and one hour off the service time which almost brought it down to the correct amount that should have been charged in the first place. That being said, we weren't sure if we would continue using them in the future but in her unprofessional and rude way she made that decision for us by saying "We won't be doing business with you anymore". TIPS: If you are told that she can't give a true estimate OR if you get a quote over the phone, make sure you get something in writing with a breakdown of the charges before you go forward. Ask for an email stating what was said over the phone.....another suggestion would be is to note down the time when the service people start and finish the job and have them sign it to prove the actual time they were there.
