I had visited the shop before and noticed all of the precision sewing machines behind the front counter, so I decided to give them a try.
The woman, I wish I could remember her name, examined the damaged seam and stated that it would require a hidden stitch, how much was the repair (reasonable), come back in a couple of days to pick it up.
Boy was I amazed by the handiwork.

I came in with a very unusual request — I needed help taking body measurements for a traditional dress being made abroad for my wedding. When I arrived, they welcomed me warmly and made me feel so comfortable. She kindly helped me video call my tailor overseas and followed his instructions step by step, taking the exact measurements he needed and reading them out for him. She was patient and sweet.

At the end, when I went to pay, she refused to take any money — she did it as a pure act of kindness. I insisted, but she wouldn’t let me. I was so touched. This dress is for my traditional wedding back home in Africa, so her kindness means more to me than words can say.
