RUTGERS HEALTH Family Medicine at Monument Square is a patient-oriented medical home providing individualized and compassionate care. The practice is a premier teaching center for the medical school, featuring teams of board-certified family medicine physicians, attending physicians, resident doctors, competent nurses, medical assistants, and front-office staff. Many patients report excellent and kind doctors who are attentive, care deeply, and go above and beyond to help. The nurses are also noted as great and competent, with callback times having improved recently. While the doctors and clinical staff receive consistent praise, the administrative system has faced challenges. Scheduling regular care with an attending physician can be difficult due to their teaching positions, though it is easier with a resident. The scheduling office and front desk have been very problematic in the past. However, the introduction of the MyChart online system has led to recent improvements, allowing patients to avoid most front desk interactions. For immediate needs, patients will still require a separate urgent care clinic. Overall, despite some procedural issues, many patients consider it a good place and would definitely recommend it to others.
