Stay on the trail / stone and you will be good. Beautiful lookout at the end of water and marsh. Cool birds and wildlife. Except the ticks. My wife went off trail and ended up with a bunch of small seed ticks. So stay on the stones and you will be fine like I was!In hindsight there was a tick warning sign at the entrance.

Very quiet on a mid-week late spring day; saw no-one else during the hour we spent here. Beautiful scenery: marsh, river and woods. Saw lots of wild flowers, including mountain laurel, and birds and turtles. Perfect place to break our drive to Cape May.

This preserve had the typical hollies and pines, lichens and moss, sandy ground, swampy spots, etc., but the trees grew a bit higher here, and the canopy felt more thinned out, with more sunlight penetrating to the trails. It had a really neat feel. This is a large preserve, so I did not explore nearly enough of it. I look forward to visiting... read full review
