About Summit Health OBGYN
Summit Health OBGYN has received mixed reviews from patients. Some have experienced long wait times and issues with the appointment process, expressing frustration over difficulty in making appointments and receiving follow-up communication. Others noted that the office has a convenient location with ample parking and a self-registration process that helps streamline visits. Patients reported satisfactory care from medical staff, with thorough answers to their questions. While the facility has a long-standing history of service, recent concerns indicate a shift in patient care focus, leading some to feel that the emphasis is more on volume than personal attention.
Summithealth (Summit Medical Group) used to be a fantastic place to have all my healthcare needs met. Since they were bought by private equity it has become a machine that can't offer every day care for their patients. If something happens in between annual appointments (which usually have to be booked months in advance) the answer is to go to urgent care. That's not where I want to get my health care! And every time I find a doctor that I like, they end up leaving the practice. My guess is that a good doc who wants to treat patients like humans and not just a means to make the group money, feels the need to go elsewhere. Which, unfortunately, is leaving me no choice but to do the same.
I came in for bloodwork on Saturday. Big mistake. I came in 15 minutes early. Here it is 56 minutes later and it seems that everyone else who came in after me got called before me. All I needed done was to have them get blood to check my PSA. I don't know if I ever want to see another doctor in my life or get blood work done. Update: I checked with the desk and they said that they printed my paperwork. Turns out the lab misplaced it so they had to print another one.
I've been going to Summit Health for more than 32 years. It used to be of great service and cared about patients. This is the one singular and serious issue. You can never make an appointment on the phone. Also follow-ups by the Doctors are only through AthenaHealth. They'll never take a call from you, or email you with results. It's all about money and keeping the doctors seeing many many patients
