I have a prescription of -4.00 in each eye. i have been wearing glasses since 3rd grade and contacts since 8th grade. after college, my contacts became increasingly uncomfortable to the point where i couldnt wear them for over 10 hours a day. I did some research and i found out that i did not qualify for lasik because i had thin corneas, however i did qualify for PRK. i went to Dr. Goldberg to get a quote ($4000 total for everything including all drops and all post-op visits). I had my surgery on Feb 26. The surgery itself lasted less than 10 min and it was Dr Goldberg and 3 other technicians in the room. It went by very fast and was weird but not painful. I read the reviews about the doctor not being very personable but figured I could overlook that if the skill was there. It’s a small thing but having lasik was a pretty scary experience and not having the doctor or nurses there to reassure me didn’t help. I felt mostly like one of the many they were doing that day and no special care was given. I could handle all that if my surgery was successful. Over a year later now and my vision was not where it should be. I was told they could do another surgery but there would be greater risk involved so I’ll likely just get distance glasses.To make matters worse I’ve never waited less than 1.5 hours to see the doctor. Dr. Gershenbaum and staff were awesome! Every staff member I spoke to were very friendly. During the procedure the nurses and Dr. Gershenbaum were very friendly and walked me thru each step of the procedure and were very concerned with my comfort. The facility was easy to get to and very clean.
