On January 15, I consulted Dr. Melissa Burgos from Phillips-Barber Office (Lambertville NJ) after five days of severe illness. Dr. Burgos performed a flu test, ordered a chest X ray, and informed me that I would need antibiotics if pneumonia was confirmed or if my condition worsened. She assured me that she would contact me the same day once the X ray results were available.
Throughout Thursday, my condition deteriorated significantly: my temperature rose to 102°F. My husband and I repeatedly called the office trying to reach the doctor, but without success. After the sudden cancellation of my family member's behavioral health appt due to insurance denial, the staff at Phillips worked with us on rewriting scripts to cover the gap until a new psychiatrist could be found. Without their support things could have become very bad due to medication withdrawl. Thank you.
