About Wild Turkey Golf Club
Wild Turkey Golf Club is one of the most unique golf courses in New Jersey, featuring a diverse terrain of basins and ridges. Designed by Roger Rulewich, the course offers wide fairways and moderately contoured greens, making it playable for high handicappers, while strategic tee box placement adds a challenge for experienced golfers. The course has been recognized as one of the "Top New Public Courses" in the state by the NJGCOA. The basin area of the course is reminiscent of the treeless expanse of the nearby Ballyowen, and the par-3 14th hole provides golfers with a stunning view of the entire hollow while challenging them with a long iron shot. Overall, the course is well-maintained, with greens in excellent condition and all areas in very good shape. The course is also forgiving, with wide fairways and plenty of signs to guide players, making it suitable for average golfers. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the rangers are abundant, ensuring a good flow of play. The snack cart passing by every other hole adds to the enjoyable experience. While the course is praised for its beauty and challenge, some players have noted issues with the pace of play, with rounds sometimes taking over five hours due to a lack of ranger presence to ensure a smooth flow of play. However, recent reviews indicate that the pace of play can be great, especially during certain times like holidays. The course is well kept, with fairways mostly in good condition, though some sand traps need more sand and stones removed. Carts could also be improved by supplying fill for divots. The greens are fast and well-maintained, even after rain. The course is considered a nice challenging and forgiving place to play, with plenty of elevations and sand traps to navigate. Many players find the experience enjoyable and worth the price, despite some opinions that the $120 round is pricey. Overall, Wild Turkey Golf Club offers an enjoyable and rewarding golfing experience and comes highly recommended by many visitors.
The resort is amazing. Helpful and polite staff. Wild Turkey golf course was lots of fun. Great design. My friend and I drove up from MD for a two golf tourney and stopped in for a practice round to break up the drive. We played Wild Turkey and the Cascades 9 hole course. Wild Turkey was lots of fun to play. This place is worth the trip for all fronts. My wife and I are definitely going to come back together.
Chuck, one of the Marshall’s was fantastic. Chuck is quite personable, knowledgeable of all three courses and enjoyable to talk to. Thank you Chuck!
Played Wild Turkey recently and really enjoyed it. It’s a fun course to play with some challenging holes that keep you on your toes. The layout is surrounded by residential townhouses in certain areas, but you still get some really nice views throughout the round. A few workers on the holes got a bit in the way here and there, though maybe that was just the season I came. The staff in the pro shop were very friendly and welcoming. Overall, a great experience and worth checking out if you’re in the area.
Wild Turkey is my personal favorite course at Crystal Springs. It rewards length of the tee, but it never feels overly punishing if you miss a shot or two. The layout strikes a great balance — plenty of opportunities to let it rip off the teebox, but also a handful of tricky holes that keep you on your toes, especially the par 3s. It’s not the type of course that beats you up; instead, it’s just straight-up fun to play. Every round here feels like a really great day out.
