A martial art school is only as good as the instructor installing the art making the Shotokan Karate Academy the ideal crucible for self development. Sensi Ray Owens (the instructor) not only professionally teaches his students the whole of a beautiful and ancient art but also cultivates integrity. Being a student of Sensi Owens I can say with no ego I learned how to completely defend myself but more importantly was taught the technique of a cooler head prevailing in the face of conflict. I was very fortunate to learn this effective and powerful art instructed by such a sincere and humbled man that my experience not only developed body but character and heart. Sensi Ray Owens is an instructor, mentor and a personal friend who never leaves any of his students behind. At the Shotokan Karate Academy we, seek perfection of character, we are faithful, we endeavor, we respect others and we refrain from violent behavior. The Shotokan Karate Academy helped me become the man I am today and I owe Sensi Owens all my gratitude. I will always carry his teachings throughout my life and remember what it takes to be a man of integrity. Thank you Sensi
