We bought a "fixer upper" at the start of the year knowing that it needed a new roof. With winter looming, we didn't want to take a chance with the old, worn out roof atop the home. Additionally, the insurance company required chimney repairs soon, or else they wouldn't renew the policy! So we did our due diligence and called 3 different roofers. One came out and gave a fancy quote: they had a nice computer system that made it look very "official."
