I know not everyone’s experience is the same. But after two visits to the training room I feel so much better. They take great care in taking their clients injuries and pain seriously. They are very knowledgeable and professional. They also practiced very good hygiene. I highly recommend the training room.
There are not enough positives adjectives in our language to express just how much I appreciate the people at The Training Room in Cherry Hill! From the moment you walk in there you are treated with friendly respect! At the previous physical therapy office I attended I was greeted with “NEXT!” At TTR it was always “Hello Russell,” or at the very least, “Hello!” I know such things don’t mean anything for a person’s recovery, but when you have to go somewhere it’s nice to be treated as if you matter. My two previous experiences with physical therapy were dreadful in comparison to the treatment I received at TTR! The most noticeable difference from the other two places was that I felt I was just as important as every other patient there! At both other physical therapy places I attended I felt like a second-class (maybe even third-class) customer because I was not an athlete recovering from a sports-related injury. I felt like us over-30 folks were treated as if they were doing us a favor by squeezing us in for an appointment between the real patients: the high school and college athletes. At TTR we were all greeted with a “Hello” and when the very helpful people behind the front desk gave me their attention, they gave me all of their attention! Not once was I grunted at from behind a cell-phone screen! It seems to me that the people at TTR remember something many (maybe most) other medical-related businesses don’t: that their patients are customers! I’ve worked in retail long enough recognize a business that understands its relationship to its clients, and TTR is most certainly one of those businesses! Of course all of this is nice, but the reason anyone goes to physical therapy is to get better, and this is where TTR really shines! The therapists are all doctors (that might be everywhere, I’m not sure), and the therapist that treated me was nothing short of amazing! Dr. Akil Piggott (who insisted I call him simply “Akil.”) didn’t just say, “Here, do these exercises. OK, looks good, do that ten times a day. Bye.” Which is a pretty accurate description of my two previous PT experiences. Instead he gave me exercises to do, showed me how to do them, then watched, corrected, watched, and corrected my movements until I was doing it in a way that was going to fix my issue. When I showed up, he knew who I was by name, he knew why I was there, and had a plan ready. As a result, I was close enough to 100% to be done therapy in about half the time I was expecting! In less than two months I went from not being able to lift my hand above my chest, to being able to screw a lightbulb into a fixture directly over my head! I am as amazed as I am grateful! “Thank you Dr. Piggott (or Akil, if you insist)!”
The staff at THR is absolutely FABULOUS! From the front desk staff (very courteous and professional) to the PTs. I’ve been working with Steve G for about 3 months and he’s the absolute best. Incredible knowledge of the human body and proper body mechanics, great bedside manners, very personable and over all by far the best physical therapist I’ve ever worked with. I came in with a shoulder injury and he’s gotten to help me with my shoulder, my hips, even my feet when they were acting up. He’s always ready to attack the problem, whatever curve ball I throw at him. He’s even helped me with my running mechanic, which others have tried and failed. Whether you’re in pain, recouping from a surgery or an athlete with a nagging, reoccurring injury, The Training Room Is the place to be.
