“We have used Sweeney Home Improvement several times for both large renovations and smaller projects. Their work is great and Adam, the owner, stands behind his work. My wife and I trusted his team with the keys to our house, while they worked, for months at a time and they always respected our home, belongings and privacy. Adam is easy to work with, creative and adept at a wide range of renovations including building/carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, flooring, insulation, roofing, siding, drainage etc. We are planning additional renovations and will be calling him because while good/honest contractors are hard to find, once you find one you stick with them.
Our first experience with Sweeney was to have them convert a small space into a full bathroom with sink, toilet, window, HVAC, lighting and shower. They installed a small footprint toilet that helped make the small space accommodate a full bathroom. While on site, they removed the wall-to-wall carpet and installed laminate flooring. They removed an exterior door and reused it in the front entrance to our workshop. They removed a bay window from our dining room and reused it in our den so we could have a picturesque view of our backyard. They broke down an interior wall which gave us a larger family room that now flowed into the den. They reused the windows and another exterior door from the house and installed them in the back of our workshop. They had Anderson Windows custom-make a 7-foot glass insulated window, and hinged glass door, that Sweeney installed in our dining room so we could see into our backyard. This was a much better option than a slider, as it gave us an unobstructed view and saved about 50% of the cost. They built a wooden deck, with large platform steps, right off the dining room which expanded our home into the outdoors. They also agreed to fix a few things around the house like taking out a chimney that was no longer in use and improving the drainage around the corner of the house. Adam’s and his team were there by 7:15 AM almost every day. He was there for all inspections and made changes as needed as the work progressed.
We were so pleased with their work, that we contracted with Adam again to renovate our workshop and modernize it. He and his team re-sheet rocked and painted the walls, installed new trim around the windows and doors, installed new flooring, new doors and replaced the drywall with a stained wooden ceiling to match the family room. His team custom-built ramps which made it easier for my wife and I to get from one room to another, he patched some leaks in the roof, re-sided the exterior with matching vinyl siding, installed gutters and remove the propane heater and replaced it with a mini-split air conditioner and heating system.
We are planning more renovations and projects on our house and will be calling Adam and his team to do the work.”
