New to the area and needed a haircut so I tried out Elks. Ralph is a great guy and gave me a great cut for half the price of anywhere else. If you're going later in the day, make sure to call as Ralph will close up early if nobody is coming in.

I have been going to the Elk's barbershop since i was a kid in the 60s - Ralph has been cutting my hair sine the 70s - back when i had hair. I think his prices are still the same. Wonderful place, great guy/barber too. The best, most affordable haircut in all of Central NJ. Can't go wrong here, and you will save $100s every year, Check him/the Elk's Barbershop out.

Nice old school style barbershop. Located on 2nd street between Hamilton St & Maiden Lane, around the corner from the BROOK theater. Ralph runs the shop & is a very good barber. He is very pleasant and quite skilled. No fancy stuff here.....just a real good haircut using comb & scissors. Ralph later applies a little hot lather around the back of the neck & sideburns & skillfully uses a straight edge to give you that clean & finished look. A little witch hazel finishes it off. All this while Frank Sinatra plays on the radio & some good conversation with everyone in the shop.....a very pleasant experience. His $8 price is very reasonable even with a good tip added on. A few things to note. The shop is closed on Wednesdays, but opens at 8 AM other days. Street parking is available but remember to put coins in the meter (25 cents for 30 min). Ralph has a lot of regular customers so the shop can get busy....I got there on a Thursday about 9:30 and he had one customer in the chair and another waiting ahead of me. When I was done & left there were two people waiting. This alone is a testament to the quality of his work & the repeat business he gets. I was pleased with my haircut and will be returning to the Elk's Barber Shop again.
