I broke down yesterday at this business. I asked a lady working there for a ride down the highway to an auto store. She said let me get my boss and proceeded to never come back out. My husband walked 2 miles to the store in the blazing sun. We were stranded from 12:30-6:30. at that location. The workers left for the day with zero regard. We ended up needing a tow. I know this isn’t specific to working with this company however I think it shows the character of the company and it’s employees.

I recently participated in a 3-day lifeguard training (even though it’s only supposed to be 2 days) through American Pool at 968 Kings Hwy, West Deptford, NJ. The instructor, Hannah Nees, told us we’d get two chances per test—but most of the 20 participants only got one. Only 3 people passed overall.

She was extremely unprofessional: yelling at us, cursing when we messed up, and barely paying attention. She was on her phone constantly and ignored certain people.

The whole experience felt inconsistent, unfair, and like a complete waste of time. I hope American Pool reviews this and holds their trainers to a higher standard.

I live in a complex in Lindenwold. Our pool has been open this year for the first time since before Covid, and the only thing that could be better than finally having our pool back is having the BEST lifeguard!! We were blessed this year with Jay. He keeps a close watch over the swimmers, regularly tests and maintains the pool chemicals, so we always have crystal clear water. He is gentle but firm when giving instructions or corrections to keep everyone safe. Most importantly, the kids respect and love him. Many kids have significantly improved their swimming skills over a few weeks with tips from Jay, our American Pool Lifeguard. Hoping we get Jay again next year. So...read full review
