i could not recommend ysbd enough! i danced here for 14 years, and simultaneously worked here for 3. not only does missy create an extremely comfortable and enjoyable environment, but the community created with my teammates resembles that of a close-knit family. dance pushes you to challenge yourself physically and mentally, and getting kids in it while they’re young teaches them a variety of lessons and social skills that cannot be taught in other sports. missy is my favorite one-woman show, and the people here are my second family. if youre looking for a way to get active and stimulate yourself, without being too cutthroat or time consuming, ysbd is a great fit❤️
I’ve been dancing at this studio since I was in 4th grade, and I can honestly say it’s been one of the best experiences of my life. From the moment I walked in as the “out-of-towner” new girl, Missy made me feel so welcomed and at home. She truly cares about every single dancer, and the girls and moms here are just as kind and supportive—it really feels like a family. Missy is not only an amazing teacher but also an incredible choreographer. She has a gift for showcasing everyone’s strengths on the dance floor while still pushing us to grow and challenge ourselves. I’ve had the privilege of dancing in so many of her routines over the years, and we’ve won multiple awards with them because of how creative, dynamic, and powerful they are. What makes her different from your average dance teacher is the way she connects with each student. She isn’t just a teacher—she’s like a second mom. You can go to her about dance, but also about school, work, or even personal struggles. She truly invests in her dancers as people, and that makes all the difference. The fact that she does all of this on her own is beyond impressive. Twice a year, she puts on shows that are nothing short of fabulous. Even now, I love coming back to watch them, and every year it feels like they get better and better. This studio and Missy will always hold such a special place in my heart. If you’re looking for not just a dance school, but a true dance family, this is the place.❤️❤️
