Last week we brought our sweet Axel boy into the emergency vet because he was lethargic and his breathing was off. Dr. Josh evaluated him and we unfortunately were faced with the unthinkable after receiving terrible news and a grim prognosis. Dr. Josh explained everything well and with kindness, even though I know breaking news like this isn’t an easy burden to bear. We made the gutting decision to lay our boy to rest and relieve his pain. It was one of the worst nights of my life and hardest things I have had to do. VECC was amazing! Our little 20 pnd doodle lost usage of his back legs. They ran tests quickly and we learned he had lyme disease. They treated him right away and then followed up with us to see how he was doing. He is doing great and has back his ability to walk and run! The staff were kind and gentle with our dog and with us! The vet came in and spoke to us directly and was very compassionate and truly hands on. We highly recommend taking your doggy or pet to VECC.
