The work is beautiful! My daughter could not stop smiling. The owner did a lovely job and was thoughtful about making sure this was a good first experience for her. The environment was very laid back. Would definitely recommend!
Today while I was at Glow Hair Braiding salon in Manchester, New Hampshire I saw something that was completely unbelievable to the point where I felt extremely saddened and struck by disbelief. My heart actually hurt for the owner of the salon.. I want to express the shear disrespect, harassment and unbelievable negative attitude one of the customers walked in with. This woman actually taunted the owner wanting her to get upset, wanting to be able to use the angry black woman stereotype.... making comments to her that you could not imagine and actually referencing Donald Trump. I was amazed at how calm the owner stayed and the amount of self-respect that she had for herself and for the customer even as the woman continued to disrespect her. I sat there repulsed. My jaw hanging to the floor. I want everyone reading this to realize the force behind these words. My words as a strong, balanced black woman. I want you to feel my words, letting them run down your soul like sand in the desert, hot under your feet...and feel we are all connected... We need to do better as a community in supporting our black women. We as women in the black community need to realize that we have to uplift and not destroy. We need to be in peace, financially, spiritually and emotionally. We need to encourage eachother. We need to love and smile as bright as the Sun, we need to give just as the wind continues to blow. Be gentle. Be kind. Be wise with your words. We as beautiful Queens need to have acceptable communication and not harass. We need to promote positive energy to our fellow beautiful Queens instead of breaking them down with words of negativity and harm that no one ever needs. This message is to the woman who came into the salon angry at life, angry with life. You may be hurting and you may not know how to fix that. However, putting that burden on others will do you no good in life. Be positive and do better. Reach out to other strong black females to help you as they will not dismantle you and harm you as you did today to all of the women in the salon especially the owner. To the women at Glow Hair Braiding you are amazing and I will continue to come back as well as my daughter. I know your smiles will continue to greet me with your amazing sense of self and customer service. Much love beautiful ladies ❤️
