Today I received a call from Stacy. She explained that she just had a telephone conversation with my mother (who is in a nursing home). Stacy explained that her office had received an online inquiry, supposedly from my mother, about an accident (that never actually happened). As it turned out, scammers had used my mother’s (accurate) landline, but had created a fictitious email address to go with their fake claim of an accident (with injury). All this to say that Stacy went above and beyond today by finding me (Power of Attorney) to alert me to this victimization.
