I hired Bob and Detail Designs in the fall of 2018 to build a new home in Mont Vernon. The prior reviewer's experience could not be further from mine. I moved into a home of exceptional quality and craftsmanship, and in addition be being communicative and collaborative through the process as I evaluated design changes and options, Bob was incredibly responsive before, during and after my move. ANY issue that surfaced was immediately addressed (and they were minor and not a reflection of his or his team's work) It breaks my heart that I have to relocate -- and can honestly say that my home had offers from just about every prosective buyer, and all significantly over asking....read full review

We completed our second custom-built home with Detail Design Builders. In all of our interactions with Bob we always felt like he had our best interest at heart, even though he had other projects underway. As with any custom built home some delays are to be expected. When challenges arose Bob always did the right thing. If I were to build another custom built home I would not hesitate whatsoever to utilize Detail Design. Bob offers a comprehensive skill set, and we are very happy with our home. His homes are structurally sound and overall aesthetically beautiful.

Having read the other reviews, I'm astounded. The quality of our home is unmatched. Everyone who has seen it, inside and out, is impressed with the design, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Bob does amazing work. The value he delivers is amazing. Our home is simply amazing. That said, there are some aspects of how Bob does business that you need to be aware of. He is highly dependent on subs and because of his small scale, he often takes a back seat with respect to their responsiveness. He personally gets involved with their work and only hires the best...so you have to be patient. We have been in our house for more than a year.
