Going to set aside my feelings about their Complete lack of professionalism and accountability and start with strictly facts and numbers. -I personally had (-3) work days interrupted (1 full day and 2 unpaid mornings, as I just started a new job). 1st time they rescheduled me for (-1) month later. -In this time they Replaced (+1) glass pane, (+3) windows, and rendered (-1) additional window in operable. -They asked me to take (-1) afternoon off to have a meeting (Business which we were able to handle over the phone). -They wanted me to have 1-2 more days interrupted to (-1) meet with a contractor (-1) have carpentry work completed. Work which excel said they were capable of doing and then recommended an unlicensed contractor on their team to come in after hours. -Now (-1) more interrupted day (at least) would have been allotted for excel to finish the job. In the end, it ended up being 1 more day off to have the window delivered INSTEAD of installed. -Total requested days off work? If excel had finish the job their way, it would have been 6-7 total days that my SO and I had to request some time off work. I personally took time off (and moved Everything in my house away from the walls) on three of those days to have 3 windows and 1 glass installed. I don’t know about you, but most people don’t have the kind of job you can take that sort of time off for ONE contractor. Don’t trust their judgment or ability to repair or reframe. They promised a job that they ultimately could not complete and then recommended an unlicensed contractor to come by after hours. Why is it my responsibility to take on all the risk? What if your unlicensed contractor had gotten hurt on my property? Irresponsible and unprofessional. The office lady will say that there’s no way they knew or endorsed that, but upon talking to the installer he seemingly had knowledge that this was going on. They ruined my window and I have a spare window sitting around in my basement. They wasted so much time that I would practically be out of opportunity to get this installed this year, even if I could take off more work. They say they can’t tell what the state of the framing is under the drywall. Valid, except I had half the drywall ripped down (see photo) and we repeatedly told them that they should expect extensive damage when they came to do the initial estimate!!! They assured me that they could do anything that was required for $100 a window. We said to charge us more if needed. We just wanted the job done. No one seemed to know what was going on with my project at any given time and would tell me that it’s not their responsibility to know (Sherry, Jay…). This tells me that they either have poor communication, or my job is not important enough for them to care. The office lady, Sherry, tells me that she hasn’t seen anyone dissatisfied in the six years that she’s worked there. Pathetic attempt to console me, Sherry. I can see your recent one star reviews. I only wish I had noticed them sooner. 🙄 Bonus Content: They Require you to have the contents of the room at least a couple feet from the windows. We expected this, but didn’t know we would have to uproot three times!! 😓 They never called to tell me when they were coming or going or encountered issues. I have an AC window unit that I had to take out each time. That was several days where the air-conditioning was off all day in the middle of July.🥵 The only redeeming thing that I will say for them, is that they did not try to charge me for the lack of install on the last window and allowed me to state my delivery time. They also gave the window to me at cost, but as I mentioned I am now out of Time to install it. It will sit in my basement until I can get on a contractor schedule, AND have any PTO built up at my new job.
