“In my opinion, heartland pest control is an unprofessional business, and it unfortunately starts with behavior right from the top. The owner did not have my permission to be at my apartment door spraying insecticide nor did I have knowledge of her presence. As I walked out my door to let my dog out, I got a nose and mouthful. I immediately realized that this, while in my opinion entirely negligent of the owner taking any precautions, was a complete accident. To me, a mark of someone’s character is not the accidental mistakes they make through life, but how they choose to respond. I didn’t yell at her, I wasn’t rude to her, I merely asked what she just sprayed my dog and I with.To my utter bewilderment, she laughed, said that my dog and I are fine, and while she talked about components of what she sprayed, she would not tell us what she actually sprayed us with by name.Poison control had a very different response. We were instructed to strip down, wash thoroughly, drink as much water as possible, take precautionary puffs from my emergency inhaler, head to the closest emergency room, and call back immediately if we are able to ascertain what she sprayed.Even after a week, I could feel the insecticide heavy in my chest. Please keep your family, friends, and pets safe from heartland pest control.EDITThis is the kind response I received from a Mr. Shawn Ryan:“Hi Natalie, I’m sorry you had a bad experience with a pest control company but it was not with us. There is a heartland termite and pest control out of Lincoln with a female owner. We do not have any female technicians in the field so this could not have been my company. I would appreciate it if you could please remove your review from our website. We do service the Lincoln area once a month if you ever do need our services if that is where you are located. I would also report this behavior to your property manager because what you experienced was not ok. Thank You! I will do my best in the coming week to find this different company with the appropriate owner. If you find them sooner than I, please let me know.
