CHI St. Alexius billing process if horrendous to deal with. You won’t be able to speak to anyone local, they will turn you over to collections while still trying to pay the bill. There online account access is limited. I would never recommend stopping at a CHI hospital.

I was put into a stall in the ER with someone else’s items in it. One of the nurses asked me if I had seen the previous patient’s sweater. I told them I had not. I just perched on the edge of the bed as I knew it hadn’t been cleaned and who knew what the previous person had been in for. The older gentleman in the stall next to me got up and was wandering around and kept looking in on me. The nurses were running around looking for his hearing aids as they were “misplaced” or possibly flushed in the bathroom as I had overheard. Currently trying to pay the bill for the unclean room and possibly set up a payment plan. Apparently to set up a payment plan you have to pay “395 cents” per payment (their words) to do a payment plan. I asked how I can make payments without paying the 395 cents per payment and I was told if I just make payments without agreeing to their extortion fee they will send the bill to collections, payment being made or not. Devils Lake should just switch completely over to Sanford.

they are the rudest staff and have no manners in this er. they ain’t sh*t.
